OCNA Board Meeting

May 7, 2007

Present:  Valerie Androutsopoulos, Chris Brennan, Robert Croom, John Didier, Jim Himel, Cathy Sidlowski,

Kirby Spencer, Mabelle Thomas, Cheryl Wasmund, Larry Wilt

Meeting began at 7:25

Minutes from March meeting were reviewed; motion to accept passed.

Treasurer’s Report:  Robert indicated little activity; new memberships are coming in; some activity with

            clean-up will be posted.

Newsletter:  Cathy and committee do a great job.  Cathy said she appreciates articles from anyone who

            contributes.  Very professional job.

Clean Up:  $408 collected; new members signed up.  Problem reported with chipper; next year we need to

make sure it is sharp enough.  Valerie did a great job- Thank You!  She asked if 2nd dumpster needed

for chips- probably not.  We do need to do an electronic pick-up.  There was some discussion of what

            is acceptable in regular trash.

Energy Co-Op:  274 homes signed up.  Slight problem with rapid rise in prices.  Waiting for dip in prices to

meet guarantee of 3% savings, 50% green.  Will try to send out e mail on status.

Road/Accident Task Force:  Kirby was asked to provide feedback on study of accidents along Frederick

Road.  There was a discussion of variety of information provided.  General feeling is that numbers indicated are not enough to do anything.  Our desire is not to move traffic faster through Catonsville, which may be the aim of the study.  OCNA board does not want to do anything involving bringing more traffic through.  Vote taken to support taking no action by state.

Traffic Study for Beechwood Avenue:  Mabelle reports that first study was claimed to be “invalid”, so a

second was done- no results yet.  Valerie suggested a children’s petition as a possibility.

Southwest Coalition:  John Didier volunteered to be representative.  Cheryl will get information.

Contributions:  Motion made to contribute $100 to student group traveling to Mississippi for Katrina clean

up aid.  Also vote taken to authorize $200 donation to Lurman.  Both passed.

Picnic:  Kirby will speak to Benzings about using their property- more discussion in July.

Officer Bury:  Cheryl spoke to him about attending meetings- gave him dates and addresses.  Did not come.

Will call week before as a reminder for July.

Meeting adjourned 9:00 pm

Future meetings:            July 2 (Monday) Sidlowski home

                                    September 5 (Wednesday) Thomas home
