OCNA Board Meeting

May 1, 2006

Present:  Larry Wilt, Ellen McCoy, Kirby Spencer, Cheryl Wasmund, MabelleThomas, Joan Plisko,

Robert Croom, Andy Bowie, and John Didier

Meeting began at 7:10

Meeting Dates:  There continues to be some confusion over meeting dates.  Originally they were set for

the first Thursday of every other month, then changed to the first Monday (except for the July meeting when it is the second Monday because of the 4th).

Clean Up Day went very well.  Joan reported that in spite of slow start, traffic was steady.  The extra

dumpster ended up being needed- we would have had to turn people away if it were not there.  It was very organized.  Joan gave Robert all the money collected- dues and donations.

The Yard Sale was rained out on April 22.  It was decided to try again on May 20th.  Kirby will get out a

flyer.  One purchased sign disappeared- we will put up the one that is left.  Kirby will put another notice in the paper.

Larry Wilt reported that he had been contacted by Ehrlich’s Campaign to have someone speak to OCNA

about concerns we might have.  It was decided that we are not a political body.  We could host a candidates night later.

Cheryl brought up that Officer Bury should be available as Community Liaison Officer to come to our bi-

monthly meetings, to hear our concerns and give a report on area.  She will contact him to see if he can come to the July meeting.

Kirby is getting the Annual meeting date arranged; she is in contact with library.  The Picnic date will be

set after we find out the date of Wyndcrest Avenue Party (so that we don’t interfere with that).

Kirby will pass on to Kevin Hanlon information that Bruce VanDervort is willing to come to speak to us,

as Chamber Director, regarding issues in the village.

Speed issue on Beechwood Avenue is being pursued again.  Joan has been told a new test will be set up.

When (if) she hears of date she will pass it on.

Cheryl asked if OCNA would be willing to support the clean up of rear of library parking lot, to prevent

homeless people from sleeping there.  Will see how library responds.

Beautification of Hillcrest trailers at standstill.  Ellen will start looking into again.

Treasurer’s Report – Robert passed out and reviewed report.  It included advertising income for

            newsletter.

Minutes from March 6, 2006 were passed out and approved.

Meeting adjourned at 8:20 P. M.

Next meeting: Monday, July 10, 2006, 7 pm., Wasmund residence
