Short Description of Collection
The collection documents the development and growth of the Society of Protozoloogists from its founding in 1947 until 1994. The records are organized by Society history, Executive Committee records, membership files, meetings, publications and affiliated societies. There was no central Society business office therefore the Executive Committee files contain a large amount of correspondence between Society officers and members. Committee reports are included in many of the correspondence files. The financial records contain audit reports, bank statements, reconciliation reports and invoices. Business and Executive Committee meeting files are available from 1953-1990, however minutes are not available for every meeting. The collection contains educational publications, pamphlets and newsletters. Bound editions of the Journal of Protozoology, which was renamed The Journal of Eukaryotic Microbiology in 1993, are available from 1954-1994. The Society is now called the International Society of Protistologists.
