Short Description of Collection
The records of the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS) 1969 – 2001 document the history of the Union beginning with its initial organization in 1969. The correspondence, council and general-assembly meeting minutes, agendas, reports, accounting, and membership files provide a clear view of the early development and the growth of the Union. Extensive Committee files such as those for the Standardization Committee, the Nomenclature Committee, the Clinical Immunology Committee, the Veterinary Immunology Committee and others illustrate the interests and activities of the IUIS. In addition, there is significant documentation for the meetings of International Congress of Immunology, considered one of the most important functions of the organization. The collection is organized into five series: Officers and Council, Membership, Meetings, Committees, and Affiliated Organizations.
