Why Electronic Reserves?

There are many advantages that Electronic Reserves holds over its hard copy predecessor. For the students, the noticeable improvement will be the increased accessibility of the Electronic Reserves. Utilizing the appropriate software combination, a student may view and/or print the items of their choosing from almost any computer workstation, either on campus (the library, UCS Computer Lab, etc.) or from a home computer.

Nearly all materials that have been placed on hard copy reserve in the past can be placed on Electronic Reserves. This includes journal articles, class lecture notes, a book chapter, poems, quizzes and exams. However, no textbooks, commercially reproduced course packs, or any substantial reproduction of a volume that could violate Copyright Law can be placed on Electronic Reserve.
