Getting to the Faculty Login for UCORES

1. Go directly to:http://aok.lib.umbc.edu/ereserves/Faculty/eresrequest.php

Or, browse to the Library Home Page, choose Course Reserves, click on the link for Faculty Information, then select UMBC Course Reserve System - UCORES 2. Bookmark this page for your future reference.

Register and Login

  1. The first time you use the system, you need to click on the link 'First time users please register here.'



  2. The next screen will allow you to create an account. Before you do that, you must have a UMBC email address. The UMBC email address is a necessary security measure to assure that no one else can access your reserve requests. (If you choose to allow an assistant to enter your requests, you may give them your password after you register.)



  3. only enter the beginning of your umbc email address (the portion before the @ sign).


  4. If your e-mail address contains another server name (e.g. e-mail address is username@math.umbc.edu), enter the name of the other server in the Other UMBC Server box. Otherwise, leave this box empty. 


  5. Enter the rest of the information as described on the screen and click on the 'Register' button.


  6. After you register, you will receive an email message at the UMBC email address you entered above. It will contain your password to access the system.


  7. Go back to the UCORES login screen (linked in step 1 above) and enter your:

Username = the beginning of your email address (before the @ sign)
Password = from the email message

After you log in you will see the following screen:

  • Show courses- Shows you a list of courses you have already added.
  • Add a course – Allows you to add a new course. This is the first step you need to complete to add your reserve requests.
  • Change password – You can change the password that the system assigned you, but please do not use a password that you use on other systems.
  • Change profile – You can change your name, department, campus phone number, fax phone number, and/or building/office information.
  • Log out - Allows you to log out when you are finished.
