What should I write about?
Unless a topic is assigned, you should select something that interests you. Two good ways to find topics are:
- Browse through current issues of journals in the field/subject area.
- Use subject encyclopedias for concise overviews of major topics within a specific field/subject.
State your topic as a question – this is the question your research will answer. For example, if you wish to research the effects of sleep deprivation on health, specifically heart health, you might pose the question, "Does sleep deprivation lead to an increased risk of heart disease in women?"
