  1. Go to Start -> Printers and Faxes
  2. Right Click on 'LibraryPrinter on pharosnew'
  3. Click Printer Properties
  4. Click Printing Preferences
  5. The default will be set to 'Two-sided (Duplex) Printing'
  6. Change this to 'General Everyday Printing'
  7. Click OK to apply your changes and close the Printing Preferences window
  8. Click OK to close the Properties windows
  9. Your prints will now be in simplex mode

REMEMBER: When you log out the defaults will be reverted to Duplex mode.

ALSO: The charge is per-side-of-page-printed, so the same print job will cost exactly the same in duplex as it does in simplex.

Checking Your Print Mode

  1. At the Print Station in the Photocopy Room (or on the 7th floor):
  2. Log in and swipe your card.
  3. Your available print jobs will be listed.
  4. Select your print job.
  5. Before your print it, at the bottom of the page, the number of pages to be printed and the charge will be listed.
  6. If your job is a 5 page Word document in duplex, it will report 3 pages to be printed at a charge of $0.50.
  7. If your job is the same 5 page Word document in simplex, it will now report 5 pages to be printed at a charge of $0.50.
