Instruction Request Form
Classes are generally scheduled in Library Room 259, a dedicated instruction classroom equipped with a data projector and 30 terminals for active learning. Two weeks notice is preferred when requesting a session. You may wish to consult the instruction room calendar to see if Room 259 is available for your preferred instruction date and time. Should the instruction room be unavailable, you may wish to request an instruction session in your regularly assigned classroom or lab. Please contact AV Services (5-2461) if your room is not equipped with a computer, data projector and internet access. Alternatively, you may wish to request and schedule a campus computer lab for your instruction session.Library Instruction
and Information Literacy are programs strongly advocated by the Library, faculty
and campus administration. Library instruction at UMBC is provided by the library faculty of the Albin O. Kuhn Library & Gallery. Our mission is to teach students how to:
- identify and find information using print and electronic resources
- evaluate information that is found
- cite material that is used
- avoid plagiarism and uphold the University's policy on academic integrity
