What is Information Literacy?
Information literacy is the ability to find, retrieve, evaluate, and use information effectively and efficiently. The skills associated with information literacy form the basis of effective research methods and skillful lifelong learning.

Information literacy efforts at Albin O. Kuhn Library & Gallery are spearheaded by the Information Literacy Working Group (ILWG). The mission of ILWG is to promote the teaching and learning of information literacy at UMBC through programatic activities, assessment, and instructional development.
