Library Instruction and Information Literacy are programs strongly advocated by the Library, faculty and campus administration. Library instruction at UMBC is provided by the library faculty of the Albin O. Kuhn Library & Gallery. Our mission is to teach students how to:
identify and find information using print and electronic resources
evaluate information that is found
cite material that is used
avoid plagiarism and uphold the University's policy on academic integrity
Use these on-line training seminars to learn more about select library resources, including Web of Knowledge, Journal Citation Reports, EndNote Web, SciFinder, and LexisNexis Academic.
The JCR tracks 7,600 of the most important journals in the sciences and social sciences. With the data provided, researchers can use the JCR to help determine the most influential journals in their disciplines and which journals they should read.
