Government Publications and Maps
UMBC has been a member of the Federal Depository Library Program since 1972, selecting approximately 43% of publications printed by the Government Printing Office, and has been a 100% Maryland Depository since 1984, attempting to collect all documents published by Maryland state agencies. In 2000, the Library significantly increased its map holdings by adding over 15,000 USGS topographic 7.5 minute series (1:24,000) maps donated by the Department of Geography and Environmental Systems.
Slide Library
The collection, consisting of approximately 100,000 slides, includes Art History and Archaeology, with an emphasis on painting, sculpture, architecture, drawing, photography, graphics, graphic design, manuscripts, ceramics and Greek pots ranging from pre-historic to modern-day.
